THE DONOR CAR

Ian James Corlett's

The journey of a humble 1966 Porsche 912 from backyard beater to a 100% electric vehicle.

First, we travelled to Phoenix AZ to find an appropriate donor.  I had settled on an early 60's 912.  That accomplished four things:

1) I would get the classic, original Porsche 911 body.

2) I would not feel TOO guilty about gutting the thing since it was "only" a 912.

3) Hopefully it would be a relatively rust-free, desert car.

4) There was a qualified EV builder in Phoenix.

Behold.  The 1966 (registered incorrectly as a 1967) Porsche 912.

We thought it was rust free...
